Each piece is born from the hands of an artisan.
Each individual bowl is completed through a meticulous handcrafted process.
Melt the raw materials
The story of Suiwan begins in a scorching furnace, where raw materials are melted at approximately 1,400°C. We carefully select high-quality glass materials and meticulously melt them one by one.
Top seed sowing
Take up a small amount of glass on the tip of the rod to form a small ball, then take up more glass over it.
Blow molding
Layering different colors of glass, then blowing and shaping them within a mold.
Annealing
The molded glass is slowly cooled over several hours. This quiet period determines the strength and flexibility of the glass.
Completion of overlay glass
Flashing glass is completed by fire polishing, mouth polishing, and mouth firing.
Draw a pattern
The pattern is brought closer to its final form by performing indexing, rough grinding, and medium grinding.
Polish up
Through multiple stages of polishing, the cut surfaces are given transparency and brilliance. The unique beauty of Edo Kiriko, which sparkles as it catches the light, is perfected with this final polish.
